Meet Ian!

I grew up playing in old barns and that magical sensation of being in an old timber framed barn never left me. I fell in love with woodworking at an early age helping my dad build furniture. He had his own construction business and working on jobs with him, the renaissance man that he is, gave me a well rounded skillset early on. I remember going on site with him and another tradesman said, “Whatever you do when you grow up kid don’t get stuck doing this.” But I loved setting rafters and climbing up to the roof peak overlooking everything and all of it. Fast forward a degree from Johns Hopkins, teaching, running my own bakery, installing 1000s of solar panels, building and operating a brewery with my family, roasting tons of coffee on a self-made fluid bed roaster (literal tons and still climbing), I never could shake the feeling of accomplishment from building. So from cabinets to furniture to timber-framing that’s still what I love to do and hope it’s something I can share with you. With over a decade in timber framing and the better part of a lifetime in construction, there’s no challenge that can’t be met.
